Do you use a lot of fixative? As dentures become loose and worn people often begin to use denture fixative to help stabilise their dentures. No doubt they work well if used beneath a well-fitting denture, this is because only a thin layer of fixative needs to be used to hold the denture in place. However fixative is used all too often to compensate for an ill-fitting denture, meaning that a very thick later is used. This can reduce the efficiency of the fixative, particularly when eating, drinking hot foods and beverages.
